The Island Resort offers 45 family friendly modern, Self-Catering Lodges in Waterford, Ireland. Each Lodge sleeps six people with three double bedrooms. 

Our lodges offer open plan living:

The Self-Catering Lodges are the perfect location for families, golf trips, corporate gatherings or even a ladies destination with afternoon tea available during your stay (subject to availability). The lodges are a very comfortable vacation home in Waterford for a family of six, each room offering double beds and a pull out couch for little ones to avail of. 

Our Lodge guests can avail of all the Island has to offer, including Castle dining, or the bistro style menu and takeaway options at the King’s Channel Clubhouse.

Residents of the Island can choose from a variety of dining options, from treating themselves to an afternoon of our Castle Afternoon Tea, a memorable fine-dining evening experience in the luxurious Munster Room Restaurant or tucking into our bistro style menu from our Kings Channel Clubhouse. In addition to the plethora of local attractions, Waterford Castle Resort is also an ideal base for full or half day trips to nearby counties. Historic Kilkenny town is just an hours drive North and is well-known for it's versatile attractions including the Kilkenny Castle and Gardens and Medieval Mile Museum. To the East, Wexford is home to exciting features such as Hook Lighthouse, the oldest working lighthouse in the world, and Loftus Hall, one of Ireland's most infamous haunted houses. To the West, Cork is full of colourful towns such as Cobh and scenic areas.


Lodge Booking & Cancellation Policy

For Lodge stays of up to 4 nights, full payment is due on arrival at the Resort, and free cancellation is available up until 72 hours prior to arrival. Cancellation within 72 hours will result in a charge equal to the first nights stay.

For Lodge stays of 5 nights or more, 20% non-refundable deposit is required at time of booking, with the remaining balance payable on arrival at the Resort. Cancellation up to 72 hours prior to arrival will result in the loss of the deposit, and cancellation within 72 hours of arrival will incur loss of deposit plus a charge equal to the first nights stay. 

Group / Multiple Lodge Bookings
For group reservations (3 or more Lodges) a 20% non-refundable deposit is required at time of booking, with the remaining balance payable on arrival at the Resort. Cancellation up to 72 hours prior to arrival will result in the loss of the deposit, and cancellation within 72 hours of arrival will incur loss of deposit plus a charge equal to the first nights stay. Frequently Asked Questions


Check-in and check-out is at the main Waterford Castle hotel reception unless otherwise directed by staff prior to arrival.
Guests of the lodges may visit the Castle, including for dining, once there are no private events being held. If visiting the Castle is essential for you, we recommend you book a room in the Castle hotel itself to avoid disappointment.
Guests of the self catering lodges may avail of breakfast in the Castle at an added cost, subject to availability. Please contact reception prior to booking.
No, the Lodges are fully equipped and towels are provided. Additional linen and towels are available if required, at an additional charge.
We have a small number of lodges which may be suitable for wheelchair users or those with limited mobility, and feature no steps, a downstairs bedroom with wet room including grab rails at toilet, shower seat and rails. Please contact reception prior to booking to ensure availability.
The Lodges are fully equipped, including fridge/freezer, kettle, washing machine & dryer, cooker, pots, pans, tableware, iron & ironing board, hairdryer, towels, TV, WiFi etc. We also provide a small starter kit including some teabags, coffee sachets and UHT milk. Please note, the starter kit will not be sufficient for the duration of your stay and we recommend bring your own tea/coffee/milk etc. You can always check the best offers here.
Yes, we have a number of Lodges which are pet friendly. These are subject to an additional pet cleaning fee, please contact reception for more information. Please note all dogs must strictly be kept on a leash at all times while on the Island.
