The meal the night before was divine and a perfect start to the celebrations, we were looked after so well by Wedding Manager, Gillian and the team the morning of the wedding. The attention to detail throughout the day was impeccable. Everyone has commented on how good the food was and how beautiful the Castle is! Our day two once again exceeded all our expectations and was done up like another wedding. We were so well looked after by all and would do it again in a heartbeat."

From start to finish, the whole wedding felt so special and exclusive knowing that we were the only guests in the Castle for those 24 hours of the wedding. Gillian and Shona were a dream to work with and so helpful from the many emails due to planning a wedding from abroad and then the in-person meetings as well nothing was ever a problem. The venue looked spectacular with the Christmas decorations making the whole back drop to the wedding amazing. Our guests loved every second of the day and it felt like a cosy private venue just for us. “We were truly delighted we choose Waterford Castle for our wedding. We had a 3-day event with golf the day before and a barbecue the day after our wedding at the golf club and all 3 days went off without an issue. It really felt like a little holiday for us and our guests on the Island. The self-catering Lodges were excellent value and meant our guests could stay for the whole weekend. Gillian is super organised, experienced, and very good at her job. Her communication was excellent which was essential as we live abroad. She kept us on track with our planning with regular updates. She had thought of details and had them sorted without us even realising. She was integral to how smoothly and stress free the day went. "What a weekend! Third time lucky but our wedding was worth the wait and we got lucky that our third attempt fell during the time with no curfew. The Island was the perfect venue for our 100 guests to enjoy the wedding in the Castle followed by the afters in the golf clubhouse the next day. "Cormac and I had our wedding at Waterford Castle February 2020. From start to finish Gillian made our experience extremely special, she was always at the end of a phone no matter what we needed. I stayed the night before the wedding with my sister and again we were given first class treatment. On the morning of the wedding special attention was given to us, Gillian was there to oversee everything. Lunch with Prosecco was delivered to our Suite which was so lovely as it brought everyone together. Everything was perfect, the ceremony, the music seeing family and friends having a wonderful time. The choice of menus was excellent and the wine was perfect. We continued partying until the early hours, it’s great to have the Castle as a private venue for the entire night. We played golf the next day to continue with the festivities."

"I have just returned from spending 2 nights at Waterford Castle for my wedding, no matter what I say here, I probably won’t do the hotel, the staff and Gillian justice. We arrived the day before, and had an informal evening in the bar with bar food, all of which was amazing. I stayed in the Lodges the night before, as did some of our guests, we could not fault them, and the value is fantastic as was remarked on by our guests. The hotel rooms are fantastic old worldly, and couldn’t be faulted. The staff and the setting of the Castle made a big day for us more than memorable, and I can’t thank them enough for that with a special thanks to Gillian (I hope I’m half as good at my job as she is at hers)."

"The Castle was beautifully decorated and the ambiance on the day was so special, having the Castle to yourself on the day is wonderful. The staff are kind, friendly and each and every one provides a top-class service. We were a very happy (and confident) couple arriving the day before our wedding and handing our wedding over to Gillian and her team who were fantastic, calm and nothing was too much trouble or a problem for them. So many guests complimented the beautiful food and staff - as well as the venue - we wish we could do it all again!"

"Planning an overseas destination wedding can be a daunting task, but from the beginning the Waterford Castle staff made it so incredibly easy. From the arrival to the Castle to the day we left, everything was perfect. On the day of our wedding, I did not have to worry about one thing and was just able to enjoy the day completely. The staff was prompt, the food was amazing, and the bar was a great time. We had many guests enjoy golfing, clay shooting, and archery on the Castle grounds that the staff helped coordinate, which everyone loved! I would pick Waterford Castle over and over again for my wedding venue. It was breathtakingly beautiful and truly a fairy-tale experience made possible by the wonderful staff."
